Contribution to the network:

Dr. Judith Sluimer has worked in Maastricht University medical Center since 2010. Her research is focused on the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, specifically: 1. Cellular oxygen metabolism and its sensors, and their effect on energy and lipid metabolism, and 2. autophagy. She combines experimental in vivo and in vitro models with studies involving human subjects and tissue samples, and non-invasive imaging of vulnerable plaques.
